Are phakic IOLs a safe option?
Anaheim, CA-Phakic IOL (PIOL) implantation seems to be safe when strict attention is paid to the type of PIOL being implanted and the potential disadvantages associated with the various designs. Careful measurements of the anterior and posterior chambers might eliminate some of the pitfalls that have been demonstrated to occur with PIOL implantation, according to Nick Mamalis, MD.
