Advances in Glaucoma Diagnosis and Detection of Progression
Chicago-Structural imaging devices for viewing the optic nerve head arereadily available, but the clinical efficacy of each instrument is unclear.Current technology includes scanning laser polarimetry, which measures nervefiber layer thickness; scanning laser tomography, which provides data onthe optic nerve head and retinal topography; optical coherence tomography,which uses light to create optical cross-sections of retinal tissue; andoptic nerve photography.
